About BMW X7
The BMW X7 is a full-size luxury SUV and the largest model in BMW’s X range. Introduced in 2018 and launched in major markets in 2019, it was developed to combine three-row practicality with the comfort, technology and road-focused character expected of the brand’s flagship vehicles. Production takes place at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, United States.
The X7 remains in its first generation, known by the G07 model code. A substantial update introduced in 2022 brought a redesigned front end, revised engines, updated driver-assistance features and BMW’s Curved Display. Depending on market and model year, the range has included six-cylinder petrol and diesel versions, V8-powered M50i and M60i models, and the high-performance ALPINA XB7. Most versions use BMW xDrive all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Positioned above the X5 and X6, the X7 is aimed at buyers seeking greater passenger space and a higher level of luxury without moving to a traditional limousine. It typically offers seating for six or seven, with a usable third row and a large, flexible cabin. Notable qualities include air-suspension comfort, strong long-distance ability, powerful engine options, substantial road presence and a broad selection of premium equipment.
