About Audi TT
The Audi TT is a compact premium sports car produced from 1998 to 2023. Developed from a widely praised 1995 concept, it became one of Audi’s most recognisable models. Its simple geometric styling, rounded roofline and recurring circular details helped establish the TT as a modern design icon. Production was centred at Audi’s plant in Győr, Hungary.
Three generations were introduced, beginning in 1998, 2006 and 2014. Each was offered as a fixed-roof Coupé and an open-top Roadster, although availability varied by market and model year. The range included the regular TT, the more powerful TTS and the high-performance TT RS. Depending on the version, buyers could find front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive, manual or dual-clutch transmissions, and several turbocharged petrol engines. Some generations also offered diesel power.
Within Audi’s lineup, the TT occupied the compact sports-car position, combining distinctive styling and responsive handling with more everyday usability than a dedicated supercar. Notable features across its life included driver-focused cabins, lightweight construction, digital instrumentation in later models and the characterful five-cylinder engine used by the TT RS. Production ended after the third generation in 2023.
