About Audi Q8 e-tron
The Audi Q8 e-tron is a large battery-electric luxury SUV and the final evolution of Audi’s original e-tron, the brand’s first series-production electric SUV. Production began in Brussels in 2018 under the Audi e-tron name. A substantial update introduced the Q8 e-tron identity for the 2023 model year, aligning it with Audi’s flagship Q-series positioning. Production ended in February 2025.
The model remained one underlying generation, with the Q8 e-tron representing its revised form rather than an entirely new vehicle. Updates included larger usable battery capacity, improved efficiency, longer driving range, faster charging on selected versions and refreshed exterior details.
Two body styles were offered: a conventional SUV and the Q8 Sportback e-tron, which combined a sloping roofline with improved aerodynamics. Depending on the market, major powertrain versions included the Q8 50 e-tron and Q8 55 e-tron. The higher-performance SQ8 e-tron and SQ8 Sportback e-tron used three electric motors and provided electric torque vectoring.
Positioned above the Q4 e-tron in Audi’s electric SUV range, the Q8 e-tron was known for its spacious cabin, quiet operation, standard electric all-wheel drive, refined ride and long-distance comfort. It combined familiar Audi luxury and practicality with a fully electric drivetrain, serving as the brand’s premium electric SUV before newer platform-based models expanded the e-tron line.
