About Audi Q5 e-tron
The Audi Q5 e-tron is a battery-electric midsize SUV developed specifically for China. Revealed in production form in 2021 and launched in 2022, it is manufactured in Anting, Shanghai, by SAIC Volkswagen for SAIC Audi. Unlike the conventional Q5, it uses Volkswagen Group’s dedicated MEB electric platform rather than a converted combustion-engine architecture.
With three rows and six- or seven-seat layouts, the Q5 e-tron is aimed mainly at families requiring more passenger capacity than the smaller Q4 e-tron provides. Its long wheelbase helps create a spacious cabin, while Audi lighting, digital displays and familiar brand styling distinguish it from related MEB-based vehicles.
