About Audi Q2
The Audi Q2 is a small premium crossover SUV introduced in 2016 as the entry model in Audi’s Q range, positioned below the Q3. Developed mainly for European and other international markets, it combines compact hatchback-like dimensions with a raised seating position, five-door practicality and angular SUV styling. European production took place at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant and ended in April 2026.
The Q2 remained in one main generation throughout its production run. A substantial update arrived in 2020, bringing revised exterior details, lighting, equipment and assistance technology. A further update in 2024 added a digital instrument display and touchscreen infotainment as standard on later vehicles.
Depending on market and model year, the range included TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines, manual or S tronic dual-clutch transmissions, and front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive. The SQ2 was the performance flagship, combining a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with quattro and sport-focused chassis tuning. China also received the longer-wheelbase Q2L and, for a period, the electric Q2L e-tron.
The Q2 is known for its compact footprint, distinctive C-pillar treatment and straightforward everyday usability. Its youthful design and urban focus distinguished it from Audi’s larger SUVs while providing an accessible entry point to the brand’s SUV line-up.
