About Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a rare two-seat supercar that connects the brand’s racing heritage with its road-car design. The original model, introduced in 1967, was a road-going development of the Tipo 33 competition car. Designed by Franco Scaglione, it combined a lightweight structure, a mid-mounted V8 and distinctive butterfly doors. Eighteen chassis were produced between 1967 and 1969, with 12 completed as 33 Stradale road cars and the remainder used for experimental design projects.
Alfa Romeo revived the name in 2023 for a modern, highly exclusive supercar. Production is limited to 33 individually configured examples, hand-built by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. Buyers were offered a rear-wheel-drive version with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, or a fully electric alternative. Interior themes and extensive bespoke finishes allow substantial variation between cars.
The modern 33 Stradale sits above Alfa Romeo’s regular production range as a coachbuilt halo model rather than a conventional series-production vehicle. It is known for its low-volume construction, carbon-fibre monocoque, dramatic bodywork and focus on combining track-level performance with road usability. Both generations represent the most exclusive side of Alfa Romeo and place design, engineering and motorsport influence at the centre of the model’s identity.
