Brand

About AITO

AITO is a Chinese new energy vehicle brand created through cooperation between Seres Group and Huawei. Launched in 2021, its English name is usually explained as “Adding Intelligence to Auto”. In China, the brand is sold as Wenjie and is part of Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), with Seres responsible for vehicle manufacturing and Huawei contributing areas such as software, intelligent cockpit systems, driver assistance and retail channels.

AITO’s range is focused on premium SUVs rather than conventional passenger cars. Its best-known models include the M5, M6, M7, M8 and M9, covering compact to full-size family and luxury SUV segments. Depending on model and market, AITO vehicles are offered as battery-electric models or extended-range electric vehicles, a format that combines electric drive with an onboard petrol engine used mainly to generate power.

Today, AITO is positioned among China’s technology-led premium EV brands. It competes with other domestic new energy brands by combining spacious SUV packaging, long-distance usability and a high level of digital integration. The M7 is widely associated with family use, while the M9 serves as the flagship model, with an emphasis on large-cabin comfort, advanced displays, assisted-driving hardware and Huawei-connected services.

The brand is known for modern interiors, connected vehicle functions, over-the-air software updates and a strong focus on smart mobility features. Its identity is closely linked to China’s move toward electrified, software-defined vehicles.
