About Acura TLX
The Acura TLX is a four-door premium sports sedan introduced for the 2015 model year. It effectively consolidated the roles of the outgoing TL and TSX, combining midsize dimensions with a stronger emphasis on handling, comfort and technology. Designed, developed and manufactured in the United States, it occupied the middle of Acura’s passenger-car range and later became the brand’s largest sedan after the RLX was discontinued.
Two generations were produced. Early models offered four-cylinder or V6 power, front-wheel drive and available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. The second generation arrived for 2021 with more athletic proportions, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission and a double-wishbone front suspension. Technology and A-Spec versions balanced luxury equipment with sportier styling, while the Type S added a 355-horsepower turbocharged V6, standard SH-AWD, adaptive dampers and upgraded brakes.
The TLX is known for distinctive styling, a driver-focused cabin, composed road manners and available torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It competed with compact and midsize premium sedans, offering a combination of Japanese engineering, substantial standard equipment and performance-oriented character. Production in Marysville, Ohio, ended in July 2025, making 2025 the final model year.
