About Acura CSX
The Acura CSX is a compact four-door luxury sedan sold exclusively in Canada for the 2006–2011 model years. Built at Honda’s Alliston, Ontario plant, it replaced the Acura EL and served as the most accessible sedan in Acura’s Canadian range, positioned below the larger TSX. It was later succeeded by the ILX.
Developed from the eighth-generation Honda Civic platform, the front-wheel-drive CSX combined a practical five-seat cabin with more upscale trim, equipment and Acura-specific styling. Regular versions used a 2.0-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine rated at 155 hp, paired with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. Early trim levels included Touring and Premium, while navigation and other technology were available on higher-specification versions.
The main performance variation was the CSX Type-S, offered for the 2007–2010 model years. It featured a higher-output 2.0-litre engine producing 197 hp, a six-speed manual gearbox and sport-oriented chassis tuning.
The CSX is known for blending Civic-based packaging and everyday usability with a more refined cabin, generous equipment and responsive handling. Its Canadian-only status also makes it unusual within Acura’s model history.
